Lose the Weight
Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us. Hebrews 12:1
The Greek word for weight is Ogkos and the definition is whatever prominent, protuberance is, bulk, mass hence a burden, weight, encumbrance. As we move into a new year once again we make all kinds of resolutions, declarations, decrees such as I’m going to pray more, I’m going to get into my word more, I’m going to stick to a budget, I’m going to save more but one of our most famous resolutions, declarations, decrees is I’m going to lose the weight, I am so guilty of this one.
I started early around October and I got a good system that was working for me and as usual when I started out full of energy and very motivated I lost ten pounds almost right away, but then I noticed that the things that had been working for me was not working so good anymore it wasn’t just enough that I had changed my eating habits but I had to begin to exercise and work a little harder. And then the Lord put in my spirit LOSE THE WEIGHT SPIRITUALLY. It is time to lose the Un-forgiveness, lose the bitterness, the jealousy, the anger, the animosity, the hostility, the resentment.
It is no longer good enough to just change our habits but if we want to see a significant weight lost we must work harder this year. As we leave out of 08 the year of new beginnings and push forward into 09 the year of finality or Judgment we must lay aside every sin, and every weight whatever burden or hindrance, whatever nuisance and press forward work harder. Remember this, in the words of my Mother in Law Elder Mary little prayer little power, more prayer More Power, Much Much Prayer Much MUCH Power. “Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:13-14”. Pray more, study more be blessed.
Prayer:
Father we love you and honor you, We thank you Lord for yet another year, Father we declare and decree that we will walk into every blessing that you have set before us. We declare and decree we will walk into every prophetic word that has been spoken over our lives every seed that has been planted we decree a harvest this year, we call forth souls for the kingdom we love you and honor we make these decrees in the name of Jesus the Christ amen.
